Every single year tons of movies are released with the hopes that audiences will love them. While there are certainly many movies that might have been very well received throughout 2010, it might be safe to suggest that one of the most acclaimed films of this year was the impressive action film "Legion".
There are all kinds of different things that you might care to know about this particular film, and through reading this article you are going to get a good impression as to just what they are. You are going to get introduced to a few of the names that make this film remarkable and some of the key plot points that you might care to understand before actually watching the flick.
One thing that you might care to keep in mind about this article will be that there will not be nothing spoiled by you reading into the plot of this film. This would be ideal synopsis for someone who wanted to learn a little more about the film without getting the entire thing spoiled for you.
This film actually starts out with two friends standing out by a swingset and discussing the future. Jeep is a man who is completely infatuated with Charlie, the pregnant woman that is swinging on the swing before him. He tells her that he will be able to provide for her, and he wants to raise the baby with her. She does not seem overly thrilled about this possibility and kind of shrugs him off.
You then meet Michael (Paul Bettany) as he descends to Earth. He is an angel that is sent to destroy the human race, but he cannot allow himself to do this. He cuts off his wings to become human. We later learn that God is tired of the way that mankind has been and he wants to start all over by removing his creation entirely. This time, instead of the biblical flood he is sending a massive army of angels to kill everyone.
The audience learns that the hope of mankind really rests in the birth of one child. This child is sort of the product of a miracle in its own right, and it is also the child that happens to be growing inside of Charlie. The angels have come with the purpose of killing the child, because if it is born than mankind can be saved. There are a group of people that find themselves pent up in Bob's (Dennis Quaid) gas station/auto shop/restaurant fending off the end of the world together.
A hope lies with Michael who has risked everything to save the people that he loves. He witnessed the creation of the world and claims to love its inhabitants as much as God himself. He cannot sit idly by and watch God destroy everything that he holds dear. So even if it costs him his place in Heaven, he will defend the Earth to the end. So the inhabitants that are pent up in the store begin to succumb to the leagues of the attackers one by one, but Michael will have a showdown with a former protege that will likely be the battle for the world itself.
"Legion" is quite an exceptional film. It ties in concepts that have rarely been touched upon and a visual masterpiece on the screen. While there are certainly other things to know and appreciate about this film, this should be a great place to get you started if you had just wanted to get a little more information. - 40725
