Steve Martin is a veteran actor that is well-known for his comedy films. He has been around for more than 30 years and has accumulated numerous awards from his films. He is a multi-talented man who is also a writer, producer, playwright, musician and a composer.
Started as a stand-up comedian as a young lad, he later found out that he has some good chances in the movie industry. With his natural ability to entertain the audience, it's always an experience full of laughter when watching Steve Martin movies.
His first appearance was in a movie Disneyland Dream, way back in 1956. He played as a child who works at Disneyland and appeared at about 20 minutes into the movie. You would see some good old shots of the Southern Carolina in this movie. For that same reason, the US National Filming Registry selected this movie for preservation for its cultural and historical significance.
However, it wasn't until 1977 that he busted his way through the movie business. In the movie The Absent-Minded Waiter, he played the role of a poor waiter who did nothing but annoy his customers. Steve's popularity improved as this very short movie was nominated into the Academy Awards.
Steve was challenge in 1989 to play a serious role in Pennies from the Heaven. Knowing that he had only done comedy movies up until then, he took the role and played it well. He had to totally switch his persona to this new, more serious plot. Not only did he need to that, he also had to learn how to tap dance, something that he was able to do and showcased well in the movie. All his efforts paid off as the he won the Golder Glob Awards for Best Actor during that year.
Steve has been around the movie business for quite a while now. He has some extensive list of great movies that has entertained many of us.
Who could ever forget one of his latest movies, The Pink Panther 2, which was just released in 2009. This detective comedy movie had some fairly predictable ending but nonetheless, it's fun to watch with Steve playing the smart and overly fashionable detective going after the sly Cat Burglar. The Pink Panther 2 is a successful sequel of the original movie way back 2006.
Another one of the later Steve Martin Movies which was just released in 2009 is It's Complicated. If you're wondering what this movie is all about, well, to sum it up, it's a romantic comedy story that revolves on the complicated relationships of the characters in the movie. This romantic comedy film portrays the complicated life of a woman (Jane) who is still into his ex-husband and now plays the "other woman" role in the affair. Steve plays the role of the other guy for Jane. So much to confuse the plot some more. I know, that's why the movie is entitled, It's Complicated.
Disney will be releasing another movie this 2010 and Steve is part of the cast. He won't have to act this time as this movie is animated to he's just going to voice over a character. With his first movie role as a kid who works for Disney, it seems that he's becoming a favorite of the guys in Disney.
Steve Martin movies are full packed with twisted plots and funny scenes which is doing its job well to keep audiences on their seats. In today's very busy lifestyle, it couldn't hurt once in a while to sit back, relax and enjoy some good-feel movies, and definitely, Steve Martin movies should be on the list. - 40725
